Burners Without Borders Spring Summit 2021

As both an artist and a person, I am interested in the ideas of citizenry, community + social justice.  Some of my projects have included:

2012-2015 President, Burners Without Borders
2009-2015 Steering Committee Member, Bold Urban Renaissance Network (B.U.R.N) 501c3
2012-2015 President, Bold Urban Renaissance Network (B.U.R.N) 501c3
Writer & Founding Director of both the Chicago Community Grant Program & The BWB Walk the Talk Grant Program.

The Chicago Community Grant Program:
As of Nov.2014 this microgrant program has given out $8,000 in 3 years for grassroots community projects with a focus on the Chicagoland area. Microgrants help fund community projects that engage residents, produce direct action, create collaborations between different groups, utilize several of the
'10 Burning Man Principles', and creatively tackle problems. We fund programs that have a clear civic and service-oriented goal, and are direct in their ability to create positive change for the greater Chicago community

The Microgrant Salon serves a variety of purposes in a single evening:

  • sharing the table

  • theater and immersion

  • a chance to make a difference

  • a means of participatory democracy

  • a setting for dynamic conversation and debate

  • networking and the development of a shared vision

  • a frame of reference for communities to connect and bond

The BWB Walk the Talk Grant Program:
A program aimed at funding innovative community projects within the Burning Man Global Network.  We are interested in programs that create collaborations, produce direct actions, utilize the 10 Burning Man Principles, are reproducible, and creatively tackle local problems. This grant gives Burning Man Regional Leaders the opportunity to submit a collaborative, creative, and principle-focused project with a chance to win a $500 grant.

The Green Office Artistic Challenge:   <<<  Follow this link to project page.
Art can represent a new grammar for business. It may open new doors, nurture
new relationships, and create new channels for connecting with your marketplace.
Art may do more than imitate life. It may enable your people, and lift you above
your competition. These are some of the lessons of the Green Office Artistic
Challenge.
